UniMatch

Clarity, direction and best-fit university guidance before applying to medicine, dentistry or veterinary abroad.

Choosing a medical university in Europe is not about rankings or popular destinations.
It’s about finding the option that genuinely fits your academic profile, budget, entry requirements and long-term goals, emotional needs and future plans before committing to the application process.
UniMatch gives you clarity and peace of mind so you know where to apply, why it makes sense, without guessing or costly mistakes.

A structured process for choosing the right medical university abroad

This stage is designed to help students and families understand which universities genuinely align with their academic profile, future goals and long-term wellbeing before moving into applications.

Most families underestimate this stage

Different universities, countries and learning environments suit very different types of students.

Many families spend months comparing university websites, rankings and online opinions, yet still feel unsure which option genuinely makes sense for their child.

This is not simply about getting accepted. It is about choosing a place where a student can genuinely thrive academically, emotionally and personally over the coming years.

The challenge is not finding more university names.

The challenge is knowing which university offers the right balance of academic fit, budget, support, student experience and long-term opportunities.

And ultimately, choosing a place where a student can succeed and successfully graduate.

This is the right stage if you need personalised answers, not general information.

Choose UniMatch if you need answers to questions such as:

Which universities are realistic for me?
Am I eligible?
Which country or university route fits my profile?
What are my options based on my grades, budget and future plans?
What should I apply to first?

Guidance built on real university insight

UniMatch is not based only on rankings, university websites or generic online information.

The guidance is shaped through years of working closely with students and families, direct contact with university admissions teams, and personal visits to medical universities across Europe.

This helps students and parents understand not only admissions requirements but also what different universities genuinely feel like as places to study and live.

UniMatch - Frequently Asked Questions

Is UniMatch a consultation or a full application service?

UniMatch is a structured medical university selection and decision-making stage.

It includes a personalised 1:1 University Match session, but it goes far beyond a single consultation.

UniMatch combines:

  • expert eligibility assessment,

  • in-depth knowledge of medical, dental and veterinary universities in Europe,

  • understanding of real intake patterns and programme availability,

  • and a personalised discussion that leads to informed, confident decisions.

It is not a full application service. It is the stage designed to help you decide where it makes sense to apply before committing to the application process.

How are universities selected during UniMatch?

The shortlist is created based on your academic profile, goals, budget, entry requirements, accreditations and practical considerations. UniMatch focuses on universities that are:

  • realistic for your profile,

  • aligned with your long-term plans,

  • and verified through Desire2Study’s direct experience and partner network.

The process is non-biased and focused on finding the right fit for you - not on promoting specific institutions.

Which medical universities are considered during UniMatch?

UniMatch recommendations are based on verified partner universities that Desire2Study works with.

Recommendations take into account your academic profile, goals, budget, entry requirements and practical considerations. The information provided reflects real admission processes, recognition status and first-hand university insight. You can view the full list of partner universities here.

What if I don’t like the universities on the shortlist?

UniMatch is a collaborative process, not a fixed recommendation.

The shortlist is discussed with you during the process. If something doesn’t feel right, we explore alternatives and adjust the direction. The goal is not to "assign" you a university, but to help you understand which options genuinely make sense and why.
You always remain in control of the final decision.

What if I don’t meet the eligibility criteria?

If, after reviewing your documents, studying medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine abroad is not realistic at this stage, you will receive a full refund.

Does UniMatch guarantee an offer?

UniMatch does not guarantee an offer. It is designed to reduce the risk of applying to unsuitable universities and increase the likelihood of making informed application decisions.

Offer decisions depend on universities themselves and form part of the application stage (MedApp / MedTransition).

What happens after I purchase UniMatch?

After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with clear instructions.
You will be asked to email:

  • a copy of your passport or national ID

  • your secondary school transcript

Once your eligibility is reviewed, you will be invited to book your 1:1 University Match Session.

Do I need to start with UniMatch before applying to medical universities in Europe?

No. UniMatch is designed for applicants who want clarity before committing to full applications.

Some students already feel confident about their university choice and may proceed directly to an application stage. Others prefer to start with UniMatch to make informed decisions, avoid costly mistakes, and reduce risk before moving forward.

If you are unsure which stage is right for you, please complete the Apply for Support form. We will review your situation and, if appropriate, recommend the most suitable next step.

Is UniMatch suitable if I’m still early in the process?

Yes. UniMatch is particularly valuable if you:

  • are unsure which universities make sense,

  • want clarity before committing financially,

  • or want to avoid costly mistakes early on.

It is designed to replace uncertainty with clarity at the decision stage.

What happens after I complete UniMatch?

After UniMatch, you will know:

  • where it makes sense to apply,

  • which options are realistic,

  • and what the next logical step is.

If you decide to proceed with applications, the next stage would be MedApp or MedTransition, depending on the level of support you need. There is no obligation to continue - UniMatch is a complete decision-making stage on its own.

Do I pay twice if I continue after UniMatch?

No. UniMatch is designed as the decision-making stage before applications begin.

If you decide to continue with application support, the cost of UniMatch is taken into account when moving to the next stage. Your options and any additional investment are discussed with you before any decision is made.
